Previously, the results of mid-term assessment and the election of newly applied universities in Aim for The Top University Project by Ministry of Education have come out. Due to its outstanding performance in academic research, international collaboration, cultivation of talents and Industry-Academic cooperation, CCU Advanced Institute of Manufacturing with High-tech Innovations (AIM-HI) is highly praised by the assessment committee and is further subsidized NT$100,000,000 in the second stage of second term of the project. This year, AIM-HI plans to participate in JIMTOF and shows its achievement to the world.

The second stage of second term of “Aim for The Top University Project” by Ministry of Education lasts for 2 years and 9 months, budgeting NT$20,000,000,000 for the entire project which covers 12 universities, 5 research centers and 3 cross-campus integration programs. CCU AIM-HI is on the list of subsidization as well and it starts from Feb 1st, 2014 to Dec 31st, 2016. CCU expresses that AIM-HI is the most important unit executing Aim for The Top University Project in CCU. It mainly features in academic research, international collaboration, cultivation of talents, Industry-Academic cooperation, etc.

Despite the long-term development in the key techniques of advanced manufacturing systems, AIM-HI also has several technology transfers with precision machinery industry, prompting the upgrade of technology. Besides, AIM-HI has drawn over 10 college students from internationally recognized universities to learn, to do research and to participate in International Elite Student Camp.

To promote the integration of cross-field development in CCU, AIM-HI invites professors from various fields such as precision machinery, SOC, communication engineering, marketing management, cognitive science, communication, history and the likes to join related activities of the cross-field integration program. Professors who participate in the program will be given incentive rewards by their achievement. Since the program was active 3 years ago, it has received favorable views from different fields. Over 70 participant professors are awarded in their own specialties such as Outstanding Research Award of National Science Council, Outstanding Innovation Award of Hiwin Technologies, etc. In the meantime, the prominent performance is also praised by the assessment committee of Aim for The Top University Project which helps CCU expand the term of governmental subsidization.

AIM-HI indicates that it will continue to integrate domestic industries and companies and turn them into a platform for the globe in the second term of Aim for The Top University Project based on AIM-HI’s advanced techniques in precision machinery. Plus, the intelligent technology which is cooperatively developed by AIM-HI and domestic machine tool and industrial supplies manufactures is going to be shown in JIMTOF. Hopefully, the achievement can be seen and further AIM-HI becomes the top-notch research center in the world.
